Captain Elijah Freeman is a compelling read. Well-researched and presented biographical historical fiction is one of my favorite genres.
This book falls squarely within that class.

Although most of the stories are fictional, I could envision and feel the hardships and the dedication of this brave young man . . . From fighting Indians, to freezing cold at Valley Forge, to shooting rabbits, to being a marksman in the Revolutionary War. Great Book!

The character of Elijah Freeman, his faith, his passions,
his courage, all blended into a fascinating story of how the
lives of these early American families were played out in the
context of a foreboding war of independence. The book was
compelling in its storyline and tugged at my own emotions
as the events unfolded.
