Family values taught in the home are the rock foundation of any society. These values come from the Ten Commandments and other Christian principles taught by our Savior and His anointed leaders as found in our scriptures. A sure path to success is found in using these teachings to guide our lives and that of our family.

My Literary Interests
I have always loved reading the history and biographies of America, the World and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have learned much from the great lives of leaders and asked myself how I could adopt some of their admirable and successful characteristics into my own life.

I ended up with a life passion for writing family and individual biographies of my most admired ancestors. These books and where they can be bought are listed in publishing order. But first, let me introduce my newest book — Captain Elijah Freeman: Revolutionary War.
Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints believe the Book of Mormon to be another witness of our Savior Jesus Christ as prophesied in Ezekiel 37:15-20.
In The Book of Mormon an ancient American prophet named Nephi sees in vision Christopher Columbus coming to America and pilgrims fleeing to the Americas for freedom. The vision continues and Nephi sees the battle against their mother country (i.e. Great Britain) and their victory. (see 1 Nephi 13:12-13, 16-19)
In the Doctrine & Covenants 98:5-7 the Lord said that the Constitution is supporting that principle of freedom and we are justified in befriending it pertaining to the law of man and whatsoever is more or less than the Constitution cometh of evil.
And in D&C 101:77-80 the Lord says that he suffered the Constitution to be established and that he raised up wise men for this very purpose. To access these passages in the Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants visit 1 Nephi 13 and D&C 98 and D&C 101.
Today’s U.S. Citizens are departing from the Constitution and moving toward a progressive government-dominated system that leads toward a dictatorial society which we must resist. Without religious and economic freedoms, we cannot prosper and be truly happy.
Besides honoring our ancestors, this book tells how Providence intervened in leading George Washington and his hastily organized Continental Army to secure the establishment of a free country as an example to all the world. As a Christian nation we honor these founders and our divinely inspired Constitution. We invite you to read this book as a family to teach your children of our country’s Divine origin.

More than any other family member the family said that Lorin, in his later years (pictured above), looked most like his grandfather Elijah Freeman.

David & Patricia J Farr Family Story (out of print)
Our marriage lasted more than 60 years. My lovely wife Patricia passed away in 2023. We were married for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple in 1962.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints teachings are that spouses with their children can be sealed forever. This is done for time and all eternity by observing the commandments of our Lord Jesus Christ and having ordinances performed by those in authority in our temples. As of October 2023, there are currently 355 temples dedicated, under construction or in planning stages.
You can find out more about this by going to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and searching temple ordinances. You can also go to their Family Search website and sign up HERE to search your own family records. The Church of Jesus Christ has the largest collection of genealogical data in the world, and it is available to all who want to access it at no cost.
We hope this website will help family members be inspired to obtain books about their ancestry and to be motivated to search their family records. We encourage all of you to keep a journal so that when you are gone your family heirs will know about you.
What were your values and how did you live life successfully? Without a record, the meaning of your life here on earth is lost in the sands of time.
Some stanzas of a favorite poem of mine by remind us of how important it is to leave footsteps in the sands of time.
PSALM OF LIFE
Life is real! Life is Earnest!
And the grave is not the goal
Dust thou art, to dust returnest
Was not spoken of the soul
Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime
And departing leave behind us
Footprints in the sands of time;
Footprints, that perhaps another
Sailing o’er life’s solemn main
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother
Seeing shall take heart again
Let us, then, be up and doing
With a heart for any fate
Still achieving, still pursuing
Learn to labor and to wait
— Henry Wordsworth Longfellow
Keeping a Journal
If you haven’t started yet, keep a journal. First, as you think of them, start with a timeline of events by year. Second, make an outline over time and write the year and the event. Next, when you have a good list, begin to fill in the details.
Arrange them chronologically and pretty soon you will have a good start of your life’s story. Your testament of how to live a happy life by living a strong moral code will be preserved.
I have taught summer semester classes on family history and research at the university level and would be happy to share my experience if you want to contact me HERE.
